Today's real estate market has agents, sellers and buyers thinking way outside the box to sell property. Some of these new ideas are great, but many others are actually illegal. It's a good idea to review the rules of the Tennessee Real Estate Commission before embarking on a new adventure to sell a property.	TREC Rules May change in April.

While you're busy reviewing the rules and regs, be sure to take a look at the REALTOR Code of Ethics. With the extra burdens of the economy on mortgage companies, REALTORS and their clients, more complaints are being filed against REALTORS these days. Make sure you're following these rules to avoid complaint procedings at your REALTOR Association.

Your REALTOR Magazine is a great source of information. Visit their "For Rookies" section to brush up on the basics of the game.

The REALTOR Magazine also has a fantastic collection of Handouts for Customers. The big secret here is that YOU can benefit from the information in the handouts that you give to your customers. These handouts contain information on Short Sales, Agency, and listing a home. You can review and learn from them and pass them on to your customers to help put them at ease with their transaction! After all, we could all use a handout from time to time.

Now's the time to add more knowledge to your arsenal. Buyers and Sellers are doing more research before jumping into the market. Theirs is a good act to follow. Education is not cheap. You must invest your time and money to learn new things. The National Association of REALTORS understands that both are scarce, so they are doing what they can to help you make the most of it.
